Frequently Asked Questions for
Small Tourism Suppliers
in our program.
WHO ARE WE
Travel2Community.com is run by Market Access Promotions, Inc. We are located at 5208 E. Fowler Ave. Suite 1A, Tampa, FL 33617 USA. We have 23 years experience in the travel industry as wholesale tour operators and retail travel agency owners. We are registered Sellers of Travel in the State of Florida, #10098.
HOW DOES THIS WEBSITE WORK
We will run a database of small tourism entities that can be searched by travelers looking for suppliers and services in various countries. Initially there will be no charge for the service until December 31, 2010. After that point, we will ask for a US$10 contribution from each supplier yearly for the webhosting and maintenance of the site. We will ask basic questions about your services in a form using our tour operator experience to help people meet you and shop your services from their home country. We are not involved with the transaction between you and the customer, we are simply acting as the go-between for you to meet and them to get information about your services. You will need to complete all required fields in our form and there is room for you to describe your services if you do not have a website. There is a place for a website link to your website but we ask for a reciprical link if you are getting hits from the site. You must upload at least one scan of a business license for your country or city. We only allow small tourism entities that are licensed to participate with the site.
WHAT ARE THE RULES OF THE SITE
Membership is only open to Small Tourism Entities. We define a small tourism supplier as a sole proprietor, family run business or small entity with 50 or less employees. We define a small hotel as 50 rooms. The entity must cater to tourists at least seasonally. We accept taxi men, hotel operators, pensiones, bed and breakfasts, agriculture tourism entities, apartment owners, ferry operators, agencies that assist tourists with local transportation and room or apartment rentals, small tour companies. Basically, you have to actually move, house or feed tourists to participate as a merchant. We have also invited local attractions, restaurants, clubs and organizations, local festivals, sports clubs, community organizations, music clubs to join the community so we get an attractive offering of local activities for you on vacation.
You must complete all the required fields in the registration form including an email address and a business or cellular telephone number. You will have a place to upload up to three licenses but you will have to upload a scan of at least one business license to participate. You will be required to describe your organization, categorize yourself by one of our categories (email the webmaster if the categories don't fit you as this is a work in progress) and pre-select a country from our choices (same thing, email if we forgot your country). Try to describe your organization as simply as possible and be specific about what part of your country and what attractions you are offering from a tourist perspective. We encourage you to list all the tourism organizations you are a member of in your home country with a telephone number and email contact in case people want to verify your authenticity. The General Manager , owner or one of the responsible parties for the business must electronically sign that they have read these FAQ's plus agree to the terms and conditions including a certification that you fit the small tourism entity requirements for our site. We do reserve the right to re-certify any application at any time to make sure we have only quality suppliers that will offer a great tourism experience.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS FOR FREE
We are also a small business and if this is successful, we expect the residual from small merchant fees can add to our revenues over time. We will eventually add enhanced listings at a higher price or maybe advertising on the site, but we have always believed you should walk before you run in business and this model has been successful for us for twenty years.
